APU Gate Guard

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Standard 10 certificate (minimum requirement).
• Successful completion of Ranger Fitness Selection Program.
• Accredited Basic Field Ranger Training will be considered an advantage.
• Relevant experience in conservation will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in security/access control will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of relevant conservation legislation.
• Must be willing to undergo a medical examination as part of the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• Law Enforcement that will include participating in Access Control, Secure Workspace, Reporting and Communication.
• To resolve minor conflicts that may arise at the entrance gate.
• To provide detailed information to guests about the park.
• To prevent unauthorized removal of the park’s property
• To guard entrance gate at the park.
• To open the gate to allow employees, deliveries, contractors, and authorized guests to enter the park.
• To check the credentials before allowing anyone to enter the park.
• To control traffic to and from the park’s buildings and grounds.
• To direct guests and authorized personnel to various parts of the park.
• To perform maintenance duties such as mowing lawns and sweeping gate areas; etc.
• To record arrival and departure of both employees and guests.
