Requirements
  • Be in possession of an Honours degree in law, public administration, communications, or other similar area of study.
  • Should have 5 – 8 years of senior management experience in the public sector preferably within the IGR space.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks i.e. the PFMA, Treasury regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of administrative office procedures and systems.
  • Through knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer service.
  • Contract management and project management.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively at the Top Management level.
  • Critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Time management and attention to detail.
  • Financial Management.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Planning and organizing.
  • Negotiation skills

Responsibilities
  • Support the CEO in intergovernmental and stakeholder engagements.
  • Analysis of the macro Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) trends, with specific attention to relevant National, Provincial and Local Government stakeholders.
  • Facilitate processing and tracking of key decisions from stakeholder engagements.
  • Accompany the CEO in strategic meetings and ensure that all identified actions are recorded and implemented.
  • Conduct research and network with relevant role-players and make appropriate contact with public sector organizations.
  • Gather relevant information (key decisions, strategic choices, and priorities).
  • Compile presentations where necessary.
  • Consult with the relevant public sector bodies to identify areas of mandate alignment and advise the CEO and relevant Executives of developments and ensure that these are embedded where relevant, in practice and/or policy.
  • Advise and organize appropriate meetings, interventions, appointments, networking sessions and presentations for the CEO.
  • Manage and monitor compliance with Inter-Government Relations agreements through liaising with the key role players tracking performance against the agreed priorities and reporting on progress.
  • Engage on an ongoing basis, through reports and feedback sessions to CEO.
  • Advise the CEO and Management on issues/events of relevance and provide the necessary support on IGR and stakeholder management matters.
