Foresty Service Aid: Greening and Livelihoods X3

Requirements: 

Applicant must be in possession of an (ABET) certificate or equivalent qualification. No experience required. Knowledge of nursery practices and plant care. Communication skills, interpersonal skills and listening skills. Ability to perform outdoor manual work. Planning and execution, acceptance of responsibility, teamwork and self-discipline.  

Duties: 

General maintenance of nursery infrastructure and plant care. Propagate plants and trees. Seed collection, planting and transplanting of seedlings and trees. Water, weed, and maintain nursery plants. Prepare soil mixtures and fill planting bags. Tagging and labelling of nursery plants. Monitor and control pests and diseases. Operate and maintain basic irrigation systems. Prepare seedlings for dispatch and assist with tree planting activities. Maintain cleanliness of nursery facilities and tools. Keep basic nursery production and stock records. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures. Provide support in nursery workshops and training
