Requirements
  • Grade 12 (Std. 10) Certificate
  • 1 year experience in the tourism industry.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience in Housekeeping.
  • Knowledge of working with cleaning materials
  • Proficiency in two languages (including English) is essential.
  • Working overtime and working on weekends & public holidays are required: 6 days, 45 hours per week.
  • Good communication skills to interact with tourists.
  • Occupational Health and Safety certificate will be added advantage.
  • A short course or relevant training in housekeeping will be added advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning duties, accommodation, ablution blocks, reception area, public areas, stores and admin block to prescribed set standards of cleanliness.
  • Cleaning of all tourism facilities and offices.
  • Report maintenance needs and abnormalities and ensure it is rectified.
  • Maintain a high level of cleaning standards.
  • Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required by Supervisor/ Management.
  • Control of inventory items.
  • Reporting abnormalities including equipment and maintenance faults.
  • Assist with laundry distribution duties.
  • Assist with general duties in the Rest Camp.
  • Report all lost and found property to supervisor.
  • Ensure that keys are controlled and well secured.
