Qualifications and Experience Required
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field. A master's degree can enhance qualifications.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Energy Efficiency.
Project Management skills.
Working knowledge of energy efficiency project development requirements, including experience with preparation of bankable feasibility studies.
Working knowledge of key energy efficiency technologies in buildings, public lighting and waste-water treatment plants.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Job Knowledge and Skills Required
Knowledge on the South African energy sector, specifically energy efficiency and small scale embedded generation.
Understanding of technical, financial and legal project development requirements.
Working knowledge of Energy and Energy Efficiency Legal Frameworks (policies, Standards, Strategies, etc.)Understanding of the Buildings EPC Regulations.
Understanding of the EPC Standards, SANS 1544 SAN 10400XA.
Knowledge of public sector procurement processes.
Quantitative analytical skills.

Summary of Key Responsibilities and Job Scope
Manage the operations of the Energy Performance Certificates ( EPC) Sub- Programme, including day to day management and oversight on operational plans, budgets, and the project team.
Oversee the delivery of the technical components to the buildings EPC Regulations.
General Project Management
Provide guidance in the development and implementation energy efficiency regulations, policies, strategies and plans to reduce energy usage and support investment in energy efficiency interventions through the SANEDI EEDSM mandate.
Support the SANEDI EEDSM programme, and other key partners and stakeholders to ensure positive gains for the Buildings EPC Sector.
To support and conduct research activities as and when required on technical projects.
