Responsibilities:

• Write up study findings into papers
• Analyze quantitative study results
• Co-ordinate projects
• Manage field staff
• Assist in training of field staff where needed
• Assist in the logistical arrangements for data collection
• Set up, manage, and monitor quality control and quality assurance processes
• Developing or contributing to SOPs and ensuring compliance
• Ensure data is collected, organized and stored according to SAMRC ethical principles
• Produce reports on study progress
• Liaise with high-level stakeholders such as facility managers, research institutions etc.

Core requirements:

• Master’s degree in public health/ Epidemiology/ Biostatistics
• 3-5 years’ fieldwork experience in public health studies
• 1-2 years’ study monitoring experience
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Experience with Survey to Go/ RedCap / Kobo toolbox/ Map enterprise.

Advantageous:

• Experience with working with statistical software packages e.g. SPSS or R
• Experience with coordinating or managing a field team
• Experience with high level stakeholder engagement such as facility managers, research institutions etc.
• Experience with quality control data management
