Requirements:

Applicants must have a Matric certificate and an appropriate degree in Medical Physics or biophysics at NQF level 8 as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) or a master’s degree in radiation science or nuclear physics. Registration with the relevant professional body. Valid driver’s license required. 

Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years working as a Medical Physicist/Radiation Scientist/Nuclear Physicist or working with Radioisotopes. Working knowledge of and experience with relevant national legislation and international standards. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage. Efficient computer skills required.

Duties:

Evaluation and assessment of applications related to Radionuclides authorities. Utilise the database to process applications related to Radionuclides authorities. Develop and review SOPs and guidelines related to regulations of Radionuclides. Support the Deputy Manager and Senior Manager in responding to industry-related queries Radionuclides. Create and maintain a portfolio of evidence for all specified processes. Engage with industry stakeholders through training/workshop to enhance compliance with regulatory requirements of Radionuclides. Receive and investigate an adverse event related to Radionuclides. Participate in offering advice and training/workshop to industry stakeholders related to the subunit.
