A relevant postgraduate qualification and/or extensive executive-level experience.
Proven expertise in one or more of the following fields:
Petroleum, Oil & Gas, or Mining
Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Economics or Mergers & Acquisitions
Energy Exploration and Development
Finance, Audit, Risk Management, and Corporate Governance
Information Technology and Digital Transformation
Environmental Management and Sustainability
A solid understanding of corporate governance, preferably within the public sector.
Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and King IV Code of Good Governance will be an advantage.
Demonstrated strategic leadership and decision-making skills.
No conflict of interest that may interfere with Board responsibilities.
Board members will be expected to:
Provide strategic leadership and guidance to ensure that CEF meets its statutory mandate.
Oversee compliance with legislation, regulations, and governance frameworks.
Monitor financial performance and risk management to safeguard public resources.
Contribute expertise to support CEF’s role in energy security, diversification, and sustainability.
Ensure accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership in all operations.
Participate actively in Board meetings, sub-committees, and strategic planning sessions.
