Employment Information

Under the supervision of the relevant Programme Coordinator – the Programme Officer – Advocacy, Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation will be responsible for providing thematic and technical support to the Programme Coordinator and overall support the day-day work of the Programme. He/She will be responsible for supporting the coordination, management and enhancing visibility and impact of the Programmes. The officer will also provide Monitoring and Evaluating, reporting and implementing the communication and outreach workstream of the related programme activities. The officer will play a key role in disseminating critical information to stakeholders on activities of the programme. He/She will also support the digital promotion and visibility of the development and implementation of outreach strategies of the relevant programmes. 

Required Skills and Competencies 
  • Undertake background research and present findings that will enhance the efficient functioning of the Programme and finalise and consolidate reports and draft minutes and working papers.
  • Draft, review reports and project documents including lay-out using appropriate software, verify information and data for procedural accuracy and formatting.
  • Support coordination of programme and planning meetings including steering committee, technical Committee and PMU meetings.
  • Support development and implementation of a comprehensive communication and advocacy plan for the relevant Programme.
  • Coordinate the production and dissemination of project-related materials, including reports, brochures, press releases, and success stories.
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including implementing partners, government institutions, civil society organizations, and beneficiaries.
  • Organize and coordinate project-related events, workshops, and conferences to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare briefs and press releases to enhance project visibility.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and develop strategies for engaging key stakeholders in project activities and advocacy efforts.
  • Consult and/or liaise with the Programme Coordinator and other team members to ensure alignment of communication and advocacy efforts with programme objectives
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor 
Education and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Advocacy, Monitoring & Advocacy, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Agriculture, Sociology, Philosophy and International Relations, Development, Finance, Information Science, Journalism or related fields with 3 years of progressive professional experience in Public Health or Institutional Development or Social Development out of which 3 years should be within public sector institutions or similar organisations nationally, regionally, and/or continentally.
