Required Qualifications and Experience
- NQF level 8 qualification in Social Sciences/ Developmental Studies/Community Development.
- Master’s Degree (NQF 9) – relevant field will be desirable
- Financial Management Post Graduate Qualification.
- Postgraduate marketing/ business development qualification.
- 6 – 10 years’ experience in Community Development, Business and Enterprise Development of which 5 years must be at a senior managerial level.
- Proven track record in Social Business & Enterprise Development.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of long-term strategies and programs focused on socio-economic transformation.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the business plan to deliver the HR Strategy and Biodiversity management matters.
- Coordinate and manage the implementations of SET programs, performance management, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms regarding development, implementation of related policies, strategies, action plans and standard operating procedures
- Lead and guide the development of policies relevant to SET programmes.
- Lead and manage the implementation of the Enterprise and Supplier Development programme.
- Lead and manage the implementation of the Biodiversity Economy programme.
- Lead and manage the implementation of the land claims programme.
- Manage the effective implementation of social legacy and donation funds.
- Ensure sound financial management and corporate governance in the implementation of SET programmes
- Provide strategic guidance on effective implementation of the stakeholder engagement programme.
- Create a conducive environment for the participation of local enterprises and suppliers through Community Public and Private Partnerships (CPPPs), Community Public Partnerships (CPPs) and Supply Chain Management business opportunities
- Identify, strengthen and maintain strategic partnerships/relationships
- Develop short, medium and long-term income generating strategies for tourism business development.
- Development of CPPP and CPP SOPs.
- Identification of Economic Development programs from different business units.
- Development and analysis/profiling of local enterprises and suppliers’ databases by commodity, sector, spatial spread, etc.
- Development of consolidated demand and supplier matrix tool; development of strategic partnerships SOPs.
- Development of business unit specific service level agreement informed by signed MOUs and MOAs.
- Coordination of Economic Social Development funding agencies.
- ESD trend analysis.
- Compile BBBEE annual compliance reports.
- Provide oversight on formalising community development and beneficiation plans as applicable in the landscape.
- Lead the governance pillar in relation to providing oversight on the establishment of community trusts, overseeing required training on business memorandum of incorporation, shareholder agreements to local enterprises and suppliers who sign CPPP agreements (transaction advisory services)
- Lead the governance pillar regarding providing assistance in the establishment and registration of NPCs/PTYs, etc. Work with other divisions to integrate processes and practices—this is new business for SANParks/KNP and enterprises.
- Identify and manage new products in retail, tourism, wildlife, etc., economies that can be prepared, developed, and packaged for implementation by SANParks, concessions, or outsourced to a third party.
- Primary oversight in developing the events sector in KNP.
- Drive and contribute to targeted revenue generation results aligned to relevant set programs.
- Provide sound leadership to the Division.
- Ensure that the appropriate framework, mindset, and practices are in place to embrace or react to the employee / employer relationship.
