This position requires a degree in Financial Management, Accounting Science, Retail Management, Commercial/Advanced Diploma, or an equivalent Degree in revenue management, hospitality management and business development or an equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate degree or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires a minimum of 6 years of work experience in the relevant field, 3 years of which should be in supervisory position(s).
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: a sound knowledge and understanding of financial management principles and the instruments used to manage the profitability and sustainability of the business. Knowledge and understanding of change management. A comprehensive knowledge of engaging and collaborating with stakeholders. Displays sound knowledge of legislative requirements in a financial and retailing environment. A knowledge and understanding of records management, human resources management, ethical corporate governance, retail management, developing partnerships, policy development, and team management. Proven ability to work with a diverse team and independently; be able to operate within the framework of the approved standard operating procedures; good planning, organizing, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools, including MS Word, Excel, the Internet, and Outlook, will be advantageous.
